Gary Abbott wants action!

Disillusioned with the inactivity of the current representative and concerned about issues such as the development of Darwin Harbour and climate change, Gary is standing as The Greens candidate in the electorate of Port Darwin. Gary is a life member of the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) and the Canberra and South East Region Environment Centre (CASEREC) for his contributions to these organisations and commitment to environmental causes. Gary has previously managed Community Development Projects for AusAID and the Australian Federation of Aids Organisations. Gary currently volunteers for Anglicare (Community Visitors Scheme) and the RSPCA. He is also a committed dad, gardener, cook, good mate and part time writer.

Gary Abbott will take action to:

• Stop the industrialisation of Darwin Harbour
• Properly address the issue of climate change
• Protect Mindil Beach sand dunes and make the Casino development public friendly
• Fence the Botanic Gardens and review management practices
• Implement recycling stations around the city including Mindil Beach Sunset Market
• Implement an opt in system for receiving junk mail rather than opt out.
